Where should I install a smoke detector in the room?
The smoke alarm should be mounted on the ceiling and at least 50 cm away from walls and obstacles, ideally in the middle of the room. For more detailed positioning information, please refer to the instruction manual (English language not guaranteed).
How do I find out if the smoke alarm is working?
When you turn the smoke alarm to the mounting base, the battery is automatically activated. By pressing and holding the test button and sounding the test sound, the functionality of the smoke alarm is confirmed.
Why are the batteries permanently installed in the smoke detector?
For safety reasons, our smoke detectors are equipped with a built-in 10-year battery. Improper removal of the battery and loss of functionality is thus prevented.
Why should the smoke detector be replaced after 10 years?
The reason for this is the normal ageing process of the devices, which is caused by corrosion and environmental influences. In addition, the application standard DIN 14676 provides for replacement after 10 years.
